What do we eat for breakfast
“I eat clean but…”
This is how many messages I start with. You eat what you think is “clean” but wonder why you feel hungry so soon afterward.
Here are some things I want you to know:
- I don’t count calories or cut out whole food groups
- I balance proteins, carbs and fats
- Focus on size with vegetables and fruits
- I eat for fuel, nutrition, healing and yes I enjoy my food!
Most importantly, I eat a “mostly” unprocessed diet.
what does that mean? Foods grown in their most natural state. This does not mean to me that there are not a few ingredients in foods. Take, for example, turkey sausage Show in this video here. Contains 5 ingredients, all the simple things like “turkey”, “herbs” etc…no nitrates or fillers
Oatmeal is so much better than donuts, etc (I love it too) but I would still suggest balancing it out with protein and fat and watching it (and all grains) if you’re dealing with pain, inflammation or autoimmunity (all things I browse)
I eat a lot of veggies throughout the day, fruit (yes I do eat fruit), and fat mostly from avocados, nuts or olive oil.
Protein for me is a huge focus. I’ll get extra protein before and after exercise, too. Aim for 100-120 grams per day
Here’s more about it with an example of breakfast
I haven’t done a good job in the last few years sharing nutrition on social media – I guess it’s because there are so many opinions out there and I guess I didn’t want to delve into them lol I know nutrition, fat loss as we age and more in my programs and communities (like thriving body Total is happening now) but quick social posts are often taken out of context and most people don’t read long annotations (like this one haha) so let me know if you read this now.
I have two store-bought bestsellers “Don’t Process Your Diet” and “Aging in Reverse” as I delve deeper into the causes and research.
If what works for you works… keep going! I don’t need to know.
If what you’re doing isn’t working, or leaves you with cravings, fatigue, hunger, bloating, etc., you may want to explore this further. A great place to start is mine Start jumping for 7 days
If you want me to share more like this, let me know below! Ohhhh and Save this post for breakfast idea!
