My 40th birthday party and other fun activities recently.
Birthday Party at Merrie Mill Vineyard
We had a very happy birthday celebration on Saturday at Merry Mill Farm and Vineyard!!
preparation
We booked the grape top terrace for our group and had apps, cake and plenty of wine.
And we were very lucky to have warm sunny weather!
Wine + Cheese + Frost
My favorite food!
napkins over here and cake toppers over here! They have all the years.
Thanks friends <3
So grateful to those who were able to make this happen during the busy fall holiday season!
Demolition average lifetime party
We had two children born on the 4th of July!!
Pumpkin spirit!
cheers!
BFF Party for Perchy
Birch and his friend Rory have birthdays 4 days apart, so we took them to an early celebration at Brazos Tacos last week!
They had chips, balloons and cake!! And then they ran in IX Park.
You can see how cold it was a few days before the Merry Mill party.
four years!
We had a picture of two friends holding hands in their bedroom. (Via CVS – very fast and inexpensive!)
Football Days
Mazen and I went to see the UVA men’s soccer team with one of his buddies and his mother. I loved watching the players! Mazen loved playing on the grass with all the other kids who didn’t see the match. haha.
Birch “enjoys” soccer, too. I’m putting that in quotes because he’ll only participate if we go out to his side and get involved too.
But for me this is a victory over crying on the sidelines!
He’s the youngest on the team, so I’m sure he’ll grow into it. I hope he will also grow into his costume 😉
Brandy Carlisle party
A few weeks ago I went to see Brandi Carlyle with some girlfriends. We had dinner and rave at Passiflora and then walked to the show.

This was my first brandy show and she was a great solo!! Her voice, her letters, piano songs, the audience. I’ve been playing the song right on time on repeat.

New place for lunch: Chikkady
I met two friends in Chickadee I recently had a great lunch on one of our warm days. This was my first visit and I loved the menu!
My sandwich was fried green tomatoes, pimento cheese, arugula and an egg. Plus the best crispy fries!
I also shared this amazing salad with my friend Elizabeth. Homemade toast, goat cheese and sweetened pecans…. Very well!
Halloween fun
Birch and I go to our neighbors to visit Frankenstein almost every day.
We also say hi to all skeletons and scary monsters. One week to go!
