Some people live with thoughts of suicide every day. I have lived this way. It’s hell. Continuous suicide can occur in depression, although not much is talked about. There is an idea that people contemplate suicide, and either get help, which clears them of thoughts, or Acting on ideas. And while I have no doubt that some people have had this experience, for many it is not. Even the best treatment cannot always rid a person of persistent thoughts of suicide.
What are suicidal thoughts like every day?

One might argue that this is a losing formula if thoughts keep coming back and forth. I would claim it is a file the win Equivalent, though, I’m not dead.
(Understand that the above are used in conjunction with the appropriate medical treatment for my bipolar disorder. It is this treatment that ultimately leads to the rays of thoughts, but the above is a coping skill to use while waiting for this to happen.)
Other ways to deal with persistent suicidal thoughts
There is another really important thing to remember: Suicidal thoughts can lead to death.
And if you are in a situation where suicidal thoughts are literally heading to the point where they will kill you, you need to take extra steps because the above probably won’t be enough. If you are in danger of acting on suicidal thoughts, you need to Get help immediately. Don’t pass go, don’t collect $200. Go to a doctor’s office, a psychiatrist’s office, or a hospital right away and be honest about what you think and feel. Your life is valuable and important. If you need immediate control of your suicidal thoughts, you may be admitted to a medical facility. This is not as bad as it seems. I did it. I booked myself in a hospital due to suicide.
