I work long hours for a global organization based in Switzerland, while also running my own executive coaching company and hosting a podcast. Having so much going on is exciting for me, but it can also be stressful. Getting enough sleep is one of the things that helps me stay on top of it all.

But earlier this year, travel sent my sleep all over the place. No matter where I was in the world – from Europe to Dubai to Seoul – I would wake up in the middle of the night and struggle to fall back asleep. The constant stress from the day would keep my mind active for hours. I often get up at 2 am, stay up for 2-3 hours before I go back to sleep, and then turn off my alarm at 6 am for morning meetings. This dreadful, exhausting cycle will continue when I get home, too.

As someone who is used to getting very good sleep, this really took its toll on me. I had more difficulty concentrating during the day, found it harder to stay on top of workouts, and had more cravings for unhealthy food. Overall, I didn’t feel sharp, and I knew I had to do something about it.

I tried a few sleep supplements such as melatonin and magnesium, but they either did nothing for me or made me wake up dizzy and foggy. In my search for alternatives, I came across mindbodygreen’s Sleep + support Equation. Immediately, the composition of the ingredients (Magnesium bisglycinateAnd the jujubeAnd the PharmaGABA®) hold on to me. I’m certified in integrative health and nutrition, so formulas with more natural ingredients always appeal to me. The jujube fruitIn particular, it was something I had never seen in a sleep supplement before and was curious about it. Plus, i learned that mindbodygreen is a trusted wellness brand, so i decided to give it a try.
