according to Center for Disease Control1Chronic pain from arthritis affects millions of people in the United States each year, with a quarter of adults with arthritis (15 million people) reporting severe joint pain, and half of them reporting persistent pain.
In this study, researchers from Australia looked at 70 participants with symptomatic knee osteoarthritis, and gave half of them a placebo supplement for two weeks, and the other half a supplement of turmeric longa extract (CL), also known as turmeric.
Participants followed the supplement regimen for 12 weeks, while changes in pain and knee swelling were measured by questionnaires and magnetic resonance imaging.
