AMC’s the walking Dead It is packaged after 12 years. But you didn’t really think the zombie apocalypse was over, did you? Our favorite spirit killer, Lauren Cohan, breaks down her next move. But first, the basics:
basics
- Age: 40.
- Birthplace: Born in the US, raised in England, New Jersey and a girl at heart.
- fun part of TWD: MacGyver component.
- Ride or Die My co-stars: Marcel Colletti, my acrobatic girl. She makes me look badass.
- Southern accent key: Think of the “E” as three Es.
Men’s magazine: The final episodes of TWD dropped in October. Is the end of the world finally over?
Lauren Cohan: Everyone has to come to terms with the fact that there will be no obvious solution to life. I will say that the story lines we covered in the last two episodes are definitely some of the best in all these years. There is always a glimmer of hope. Is this a good enough tease?
Rick Grimes disappeared in season 9. Is he alive, dead, or walking?
There could be some really great information about what happened to Rick. Unfortunately, I can’t say anything else.
Favorite zombie slaying?
I love the bloated infantry from season two. I didn’t kill him, but it was just one of my favorite things because of its fallout – I’m sure that’s not a word. But you are so used to seeing zombies get lost. This had soaked in water and swelled.
Tips for surviving outdoors in a Georgia summer?
You just layer every day. You wear more clothes than people would like to wear in that much heat. Then you spray with sunscreen and bug spray – don’t do it anything. You feel very alive. And you feel very dead, too. I was so hot and battered that I couldn’t even think. But it’s okay because everyone is in it together. So you kind of learn to love being in your own race.
#TWDfamily that sweats together and stays together.
The idea for the #TWDfamily started early because we were all at a satellite location in a remote part of Georgia. It was like an amazing summer adventure with the same people every year. The cast and crew clearly came and went. But the main agenda was to put our hearts and souls into this. We knew how precious it was and that it wouldn’t last forever.
The last scene, the last shot. What happened after the director called “Cut”?
Getting to the moment this show ended was surreal and overwhelming. It’s not like graduating from college. Or say goodbye to a friend or go out on a solo adventure. I can only liken it to a wedding and a funeral at the same time – the passing of an era.
You and Jeffrey Dean Morgan star in an upcoming minor movie, The Walking Dead: The Dead City. This time she’s fighting Manhattan Carnivores.
We’re already filming the new show in New York. this is funy. When I’m not photographing deep in the woods, I say, “Where are the trees?” The new show goes beyond just living to continue taking on the challenges of defending yourself and your loved ones. And unfortunately, with Maggie’s strength, she was never able to do that. I lost almost everyone.
Is it weird to be without mage knives and guns?
As this character continues to play, you think, “Where are my weapons? Where are my shoes and brawls?” My mind is now in tune with the practicality of staying, maintaining my senses and generally being prepared.
If the infantry takes charge, you will be our leader.
It’s funny because during Covid-19 everyone said, “Okay, ask Lauren. She knows what to do.” But I was binge-buying of canned goods, just like everyone else. I didn’t know what I was doing. But I’d be an apocalypse advisor if I had to.
