How many months of progress do your photos represent? What are your stats for each photo?
They represent 12 weeks. My starting weight was 172 pounds and about 30% body fat (guessing without the calipers). For 12 weeks my weight was 151.5 pounds and about 25% body fat (using the calipers).
What happened so far in the program?
I’ve been cutting back since the beginning of the program, keeping about 20-25% of my calories. I lost 20.5 lbs in the first 12 weeks and am still cutting – I just went through a week delay and noticed an increase in my strength.
I was new to weightlifting so at first I couldn’t even squat properly with the barbell and had to start developing my flexibility by doing regular squats.
I can now squat 60 pounds. I increased my bench press from 10 pounds to 45 pounds and raised my deadlift from 50 pounds to 110 pounds.
My muscle mass was very limited when I started and focused more on good form than weight – but I still made sure to implement a gradual overload on each set!
What is the exercise separate from the book you used?
I split 5 days and also walked my dog for an hour each day. I tried incorporating 10 to 15 minutes of HIIT when I had time 1 to 2 times a week.
What roughly prevented you from buying the book or starting the program, if any?
I am the owner of the first and second editions of Thinner, smaller and stronger. Before I bought the book, I thought the software seemed too good to be true and was hesitant to get started.
I’ve always thought that to lose weight I needed to do a lot of cardio (which I hate as an asthmatic) and that weights would make me look bigger, so this made me hesitant to start either. I also thought it would be expensive to buy a protein powder, a gym membership, and include 5 workouts a week into my lifestyle. On reflection, I watched TV for two hours a night, so I realistically had plenty of time!
I’ve spent years of my life struggling with my weight, previously weighing around 200lbs and making some progress through diet alone. I thought some people have good genes. Never seen girls like me in transformation photos which made me think I wouldn’t be able to do it.
I reached out to Mike via email after a difficult period in my personal life that affected me both mentally and physically. Mike was very supportive and that gave me the motivation to dedicate myself to the show.
It’s not realistic for me to join a gym because my job takes me out of my house for more than 12 hours a day, so my home gym allowed me to easily incorporate 5 days of training into my routine – I got up early to absorb it. I also wanted to share my story with those like me, who need to work on a budget – you can still do the program and you don’t need any fancy machines.
What do you like the most about the programme?
As a newbie to lifting, I found that I had a lot of fun learning how to train weights. I consider it a “hobby” now and am amazed at how motivated I am by wanting to increase my 1RM.
I’m not a competitive person, however, beating my scores turned out to be so much fun! My motivation has changed too, at first I just wanted to be “skinny”, but now being strong and healthy is my highest goal.
I was skeptical that I would get noticeable results after 12 weeks. However, many people have commented on my changing body shape and weight loss, noticing my toned arms and back. I feel more confident and start to enjoy buying clothes, I even buy bikinis for my vacation.
How does this program compare to others you have tried?
I’ve been previously in a herd of fitness followers, buying diet pills, shakes, counting points etc. I have never been able to maintain any of these programs because they were so restrictive in everyday life and I always put my weight back on after a few months.
difference with Thinner, smaller and stronger is that it is not a diet and exercise program, it is a lifestyle. Once I understood that, I was able to make sustainable changes in my life through fitness and diet that I know I will be able to stick to. I’m not yet where I want to be, but I’m very proud of how far I’ve come in my journey.
Once I learned about the macronutrient, I was surprised how much food I could eat and how flexible it was. I eat healthy food but I am no longer afraid of junk food as a treat, and now I know that there is no forbidden food!
Thinner, smaller and stronger I removed my fear that carbs and fats were bad for you, and now I’m incorporating them into all of my meals. Weight loss was consistent throughout 12 weeks. I can’t believe how much my body has changed. I can fit a jeans size UK 10 (US 8), and haven’t been able to do that for over 20 years!
listening to Muscle for Life Podcast and read Articles She taught me on the site in a way no other fitness plan has ever done. This was always missing from all the other programs I’ve done, as I had no understanding of how my body was affected by diet and exercise. Now this knowledge is the basis of my lifestyle choices.
How has what you achieved in your body changed other areas of your life?
When I first started the program, my only goal was to become thin and I didn’t care how to achieve it. following Thinner, smaller and stronger, I learned a lot about my body – how it burns energy, builds muscle, and how lifting weights has additional health benefits. My mental health has improved, I no longer have pain in the knees, my skin has improved, and I sleep better.
I’ve also discovered that I really love to exercise! I will be taking my resistance bands with me when I travel, looking forward to getting up and going to my gym, and soon treating myself to some new equipment!
Who would you recommend this program to and why?
I would recommend this program to other women like me, who count points and develop unhealthy relationships with food and exercise. Thinner, smaller and stronger It teaches you to control weight loss and understand how your body changes with diet and fitness. Most importantly, it is a program that you can easily put into your life, that allows you to eat guilt-free meals, and enjoy exercise.
I never thought I would be someone who would be a transformation story, and I hope by sharing this opportunity you will encourage others to show that these changes are possible, whatever your size!
Is there anything else you would like to add?
It’s really important for me to stress out to other people who want to do it Thinner, smaller and stronger There it doesn’t have to be expensive. Many of my friends constantly ask me how much I paid in a month Thinner, smaller and stronger And you’re shocked that once you bought the book, it’s over.
You don’t have to join a gym and I don’t always choose to use protein powder. My food bills didn’t change and I actually saved money on a gym membership by buying used weights and reducing the amount of food I was eating out.
Have you used any Legion supplements?
I haven’t used any of the Legion SupplementsHowever, I used a file Thinner, smaller and stronger Recommended Supplements – Green Tea Extract, Caffeine, Forskolin, Synephrine, Yohimbine, Multi Vitamin.
