Happy Holidays from the NutritionFacts team! We’re excited to share this collection of some of our favourites green light Eid dishes. These convenient and delicious recipes are packed with healthy, nutritious ingredients that can be found in most grocery stores. Whether you’re preparing one of these as a side dish, or an entire menu for a family feast, we hope these recipes add cheer to your holiday gatherings.

Hearty vegetable soup

This soup is packed full of Daily Dozen ingredients, feel free to add some greens and beans for more Daily Dozen servings!

Check out the recipe here.

Sweet potato stuffed with date balsamic

I love sweet potatoes, and they are among the healthiest foods on earth. Purple is best, and you can usually find it at Asian markets and specialty natural groceries. They are so good that I mail them as gifts for the holidays. After all, what’s more comforting on a wintry day than a nice, warm, steamy sweet potato? Here is a recipe for stocking stuffing that you can fill.

Home holiday recipes

Cottage pie with mashed sweet potatoes

One of my favorite comfort foods. This warm, savory dish is just as delicious with mashed cauliflower instead of sweet potatoes, so mix it up if you’re in the mood.

Roasted iceberg lettuce with kale-cranberry filling

Roasted iceberg lettuce with kale-cranberry filling

Instead of boring, starchy bread cubes, this dish is stuffed with my staple BROL, along with onions, celery, kale, and cranberries. To mix it up, try swapping any cooked whole grain blend for beans in place of the basic BROL.

Check out the recipe here.

Eid dessert recipes

Baked apple with cinnamon

Enjoy these cinnamon baked apples on their own, pair them with bland cream, or top with cashew cream for dessert. Serve these baked apples over cooked oatmeal for a delicious breakfast.

Caramel cocoa balls

Caramel cocoa balls

These 5-ingredient remedies are quick and easy to make. They’ll satisfy your sweet tooth while you check off a few Daily Dozen boxes. Double the batch and make enough for the week!
