Break beauty stereotypes for middle-aged women with Stung by Samantha
One of the things that comes with being 50 and over and menopause is not caring much about what people think anymore. But then again, as a woman, it’s in our nature to please people — and aren’t we all so afraid of what people think? judged by friends? What will so-and-so say? A kind of fear of pursuing your dreams for fear of what people might think or say about them. It’s a real lifesaver for people when it comes to doing the things they want to do – especially middle-aged women.
I know it happened to me – when I first started my fitness business, my friends were like who do you think you are?! I mean, I wasn’t on magazine covers until my forties!
Why is it that when we reach a certain age, people say we shouldn’t do certain things, we shouldn’t be able to lose weight, we shouldn’t have the energy to keep going strong, we shouldn’t have a proud sense of fashion and makeup?
This week, Natalie Gill sits down with influencer and friend Stung by Samantha who, at midlife, decided to break stereotypes and start sharing publicly on social media. He has more than 30,000 followers on Instagram. Stung by Samantha busts stereotypes of women who are over 50 every day and have a blast doing it.
If I take anything away from this episode, please take away the fact that no matter your age, you don’t need permission to do the things that make you feel beautiful and feel good about yourself. If you want to wear red lipstick, put it on. If you want long hair, wear it. If you want to shop at a specific store, do so. Put on jeans with holes, wear white after Labor Day. do what you want! Beauty as your age does not need you to ask permission to do so.
In this episode you will learn:
- Why should you put yourself out there and not worry about judgment
- What are the best makeup products for your skin?
- The best beauty stories for women of any age
