The boxy SUV will go into production in North America in 2024, and while Jeep has yet to release full performance specifications or interior pickups, this truck looks set to take the brand’s legendary torch into the electric age.
The unveiling of this vehicle is part of a larger push to electrify the Jeep model range. according to press releaseThe brand aims to have battery-powered electric cars make up half of its sales in the US by 2030 (and 100 percent of its sales in Europe). The new Recon will be critical to achieving this goal.
On the outside, the truck takes a lot of cues from classic jeeps. Its square shape, seven-slot grille, and hatch-mounted spare tire resemble the iconic Wrangler design. Like its gas-powered sibling, the Recon is built for maximum fun and curb-power. Jeep hasn’t released the Recon’s full specs, but the press release notes that the truck will have Selec-Terrain traction management, e-locker axles, underbody protection, tow hooks front and rear, and off-road zigzag tires.
Even better, the Recon will be available with a retractable roof, and the doors will be removable for a true outdoor driving experience. Given that its electric powertrain will be virtually silent, the truck will offer drivers and passengers the opportunity to explore trails without The soundtrack of a gas (or exhaust) engine.

Jeep has not released details about its engine design, horsepower or range. However, the brand is not shy about advertising the off-road parts of this truck to potential buyers.
“The all-new, all-electric Jeep Recon has the ability to cross the Great Rubicon, one of the most challenging off-road trails in the United States, and reach the end of the track with enough range to get back into town and recharge,” Jeep CEO Christian Meunier said in a press release. .
Along with Recon, Jeep has also sparked the release of a Wagoneer-based electric truck codenamed “Wagoneer S.” The brand claims it will have a range of 400 miles and 600 horsepower; It will be fully revealed next year. There’s also a new electric SUV coming to Europe – the Avenger – but it won’t be sold in North America.
