The US Open is in full swing, one of my favorite authors (Taylor Jenkins Reed) just published a book with a champ tennis player (The return of Kari Soto), and everyone from Generation Z to retirees seems to be obsessed with blended ball. In short: everywhere I look I see sports fields.
As a tennis player every now and then, I’m all for that ubiquitous presence – especially since I’ve considered tennis and pickle ball a pretty cool thing. Sports when it comes to longevity. Not only are both forms of fitness great for moving your body and getting your heart rate up, they are also suitable for all ages. In addition, as a multi-person sport, it promotes community and social communication, which can support Mental health and age.
However, one interesting offshoot of this rising trend is the impact on sportswear: truly ubiquitous fitness brands are leaning toward court clothes (a look lovingly coined by “tenniscore” on TikTok and more). To be clear, I’m not talking about classic tennis retailers, but instead, many sportswear brands that weren’t previously court-wearing are now jumping on the trend. Again, as someone who loves the occasional game of tennis, I’m here for it – but you also don’t need to own a racket to enjoy these comfortable and practical fits.
So whether you’re playing in the courts, watching the US Open, or simply running errands, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite Activewear versions of the Tenniscore look.
