If you are invited to some holiday parties this year, you may be asked to bring a side dish to share. From dips to crostini to sliders, these cow-infused appetizers are easy to transport and add to parties. You’ll love my mom’s sherry cheese dip recipe!
It is a festive time for parties, meetings and dining.
An appetizer set is an easy way to enjoy a party with friends as everyone brings something creative to the table.
Then you can all relax and enjoy each other’s company and there’s no pressure on one person to host a formal holiday dinner.
I tend to prefer concoction applications that don’t have to be served hot. It takes all the stress away when you can serve it at room temperature.
And if there’s something a little healthy to balance out the cheese, that’s a win, too. You know I can have cheese for dinner and be very happy.
From dips to crostini to pigs in a blanket, these comfort food recipes are easy to prepare and bring into the fold of holiday food.

Sherry cheese dip recipe
This is my mom’s famous recipe that she made for all of our special occasions!
Think lots of sherry-soaked cheddar cheese. It’s like a whipped up version of a cheese ball.
This dip is so easy to make, and it’s always a hit at our Christmas party! My sister and I have been loving him for years. The only thing I do differently than my mom’s is I roast garlic so it’s not quite raw on the palate 🙂
We like to serve it with crackers and a load of veggies.
Make it in advance and serve it in a festive bowl.
Ingredients
- cream cheese
- Sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 clove of garlic
- Sherry as desired
directione
Step 1: Grate the cheddar cheese
Using a food processor with grater attachment, grate all of the sharp cheddar cheese.
Step two: toast the garlic
Roast the garlic in a pan in a little oil until golden brown. You can skip this step if you like raw garlic!!

Switch the food processor to the blade attachment. Add the cream cheese, garlic, sherry and cheddar cheese and beat until smooth. You may need to scrape the sides a few times, and you can add more sherry to your liking! Add slowly.
